Day 16

I don't know. Beleive it or not, this wasn't what I thought I would photograph today. But it's different. I don't think anyone else has done this. Probably won't be the next photo on the photo guy's wall.

Nails tomorrow?

Photo info:  This was really an experiment using extension tubes on my 24-70 for Macro type photos.  I will need to try some additional things with this setup.  I'm not completely sure I needed the tubes to focus in this range so that is the first thing to try.   Besides using the tubes, this is a composite of 5 photos - each with a slightly different focus point.  In looking at the final image, 5 wasn't enough.  There are parts of this that are out of focus...  so it makes for an interesting photo with focus drifting in and out and in again.  The composite was created with photoshop CS5.

Lessons learned: I have more work to do with the extension tubes for macro work.  I find the results interesting, even if the photo isn't going to win any contests.  The focus stacking with CS5 is also interesting. 

Snow in the forecast for tomorrow night!!! Will tomorrow's photo be white?  I hope so!
