155/365 My next turning blank155/365 My next turning blankI put together a 8 stave turning blank. It is oak, cherry and walnet. It shold be fun... It will be a stainless steel lined travel mug! (I hope)
Creating the octagon turning blank was new - this is my first try at a blank like this. Turning mixed wood blanks is interesting to me, so that is what I'm experimenting with.
I hope the joints are good enough. The wall thinkness at the top is going to be a little over an 1/8 of an inch. Once again, I hope it holds together while I turn this down to te size and shape I need!

The last glue step below.  Yesterday I glued up two 4 stave halves, and today I'm joining them together for the completed blank.  Tripple clamp action to hold things while the glue dries.
